The baskets I make involve transformation. Archetypal woven forms constructed of split bamboo are cast into bronze to transform what is fragile and ephemeral into enduring object and metaphor. Once finished, each form becomes a distilled sculptural object to re-engage the dynamic conversation between art and craft, nature and sculpture, object and echo.
